This is for you, Lyndon

At the twin pines

Sometimes, when I’m riding in a car with someone and I see a blue VW bus, I like to scream “It’s the Libyans!”. And if they get what I’m saying without me having to explain it, they move up on my totem pole of friendship.

Posting a whole post from my phone makes me tired. Off to read my book for now. Tomorrow, I will post about Toy Story 3.

Beep Beep Ribby Ribby!

Holy Mackerel! has it really been a week since I last posted? I’m off my game.

There’s been a lot of falling off (diet, exercise, blog, draw) but I’m going to fix this starting now.

Okay because it’s the end of the day (work day) and I feel all greasy and tired and I still have the drive home ahead of me and I still have to work out, here’s a disorganized list of things that have happened in the last week and/or any thoughts I’ve had:

  • I’ve finished reading two regency romance novels. God, I’m not even embarrassed to admit that I get obsessed with these anymore.
  • Lyndon and I have had our 3rd waltzing class and both of us art still confused at how to do the teacup spin. We’re not really good at doing this but I just enjoy being held by him. And he tries so hard and it’s so CUTE!
  • I made bbq pulled pork sandwiches from scratch in the slow cooker and it came out fantastic. Next, I’m going to make ribs in the slow cooker.
  • At work, I got a brand spankin’ new computer with gianter monitors that are now glossy and LED. I’ve been preoccupied getting things JUST RIGHT.
  • Lyndon and I are revamping Onigiri Robot. I can’t say when we’ll have that up and running. I might move all of my artwork over there or something. This makes me want to do a whole re-org of EVERYTHING.
  • Watched a coworker perform with a rock metal band out on our front patio at work. They did Crazy Train and it was awesome!
  • I’m kind of sort of working on my tan. I’m one of the brown girls at work, I should be brown right?

That’s about it for now. I’m currently obsessed with screaming robot noises at random times. And Back to the Future.

P.S. For a few nights this last week, I’ve had dreams with Jack Donaghy in them. Not Alec Baldwin the real guy but the character played by Alec Baldwin. It could be that we’re again watching 30 Rock seasons 1 – 3 over again (for the -th time). Obsessed?

Time to go.

Sleepy Ramblings

I can’t keep my eyes open. I didn’t even get a chance to take my narcotic cough syrup. My thoughts feel so jumbled and random. This is what delirious blogging is like. Ready? Go!

Waltzing makes me sweat. But I feel fancy and graceful.
I have not worked out for a week. Tonight’s class was a nice and easy time. Tomorrow it begins again.

A great thing about dance class in the city with Lyndon? Mid-week date night! Now that I’m feeling better, we are going to explore our awesome city!

Started watching 30 Rock again. It’s like a snuggie on a chilly day. It makes me very very happy and warm inside.

Another thing that makes me happy? When an entire Queen album comes on the big speakers at work and everyone is singing along in their cubes.

Tomorrow I’ll be trying to cram a few days work into one. Wish me luck!

Man, I’m sleepy.

Is it the weekend yet?

Nods to you

Ask me anything

What was your favorite book as a child?

There was this book about an alligator in the sewer and as a baby it became the pet of a family. There was some strawberry ice cream involved. I don’t remember the title. It had wonderful illustrations. Especially the pink strawberry ice cream. If a picture could make me salivate – it was this. Is that a book that exists? Or is it imaginary. I’m leaning more towards the imaginary and fuzzy memory.

So, for something real – my sister a few books to me and I have the fondest memories of those times. The two books that are still my a couple of my favorite today are: The Ordinary Princess by M. M. Kaye and A Wrinkle In Time by Madeleine L’Engle.

Ask me anything at formspring. Or, use the handy dandy form on the column over there —>

Unwrapped Throwback

I asked Lyndon – If you had to pick between 2 shows: unwrapped or good eats and only watch one forever and never again watch the other, which would you pick to watch?
After some thought, he landed on Unwrapped. It’s more documentary style, there’s more variety, and it’s fun to see how things are made. I totally agree. Then, we started talking about the orange crayon. The short clip from sesame street that followed the birth and life of an orange crayon. We both remember it and love it. It’s one of the few things I vividly remember from sesame street. Because every time it ever came on, I’d stop what I was doing and zombie watch the TV. Fascinating. Here it is:

I love how the ladies look really happy. But then, who the heck wouldn’t be happy working in a crayon factory?? I think I would LOVE IT. I’m not sure if the smell would bother me. There’s something stinky but weirdly lovely smelling about a brand new box of crayons.

The weiner takes it all

Today, I saw the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile for the second time this week! I feel like this is a fortune of some sort. There’s a hot dog in my near future. I’m intrigued and somewhat excited.

I don’t have to go into the office until Tuesday. Tomorrow, I have a Brand Strategy lecture to attend. I’m pretty excited about it. I’m interested in learning about Brand but I’m also going to bring my moleskin and covertly people watch and sketch. It might be lofty but I want to fill my entire moleskin with sketches by the end of the year.

Then, I took the day off on Friday. I’m having a pretty slow couple of weeks until the crazy madness begins at work.I have a feeling it’ll be pretty stressful for the next few months. I want to get some relaxation in before it all begins.

Then, Monday is a holiday. So I have a nice 4 days of weekend bliss. I have almost nothing planned.

Almost nothing except maybe:

Having the in-laws over for pulled pork sandwiches, breakfast with a very dear friend, getting paint decisions pinned down, some sketching. But definitely lots and lots of napping and reading (not at the same time).

Ah, bliss.

I’m such a grandma being up after such ‘late nights’ watching season/series finales my fav tv shows.

More about a couple of dvds I was able to watch this weekend (when I wasn’t watching LOST). I’m too tired to post. Goodnight.

LOST

Tonight was the LOST season finale. It was slotted for two and a half hours because there was commercials every five seconds.

Here are a few vague thoughts I had:

I’m glad it’s over.
Man, Jack. Your first day on the job and you’re already always laying on your ass.
It wasn’t as exciting as I thought it was all going to be but I’m glad it kind of went a sentimental route. There were some tears for me.
Jin and Sun, how cute are you guys?? Go Asia!!
Dammit, Crazy Claire. Wash your crazy hair!
I still hate you, Kate. Even though you filled out that hot little black dress pretty well.
Hurley, it’s so sad/cute when you cry.
Charlie, leave the eyeliner for Richard. You could do without.
Sawyer, wear those nerdy glasses more often. Hubba hubba.
<3 <3 <3 Desmond <3 <3 <3 !!!
NotLocke, you crazy bastard.

Goodbye, LOST. It was nice knowin’ ya.

Shattered

Francesca dropped her iPhone and the screen shattered. She continues to use it. Today, Buzz examines Francesca’s iPhone at lunch.
My favorite quote from the conversation:
“I had to put packing tape on the surface, I was cutting my fingers on the shards.”

Caught Up

I spent the last few days catching up on episodes of the shows we’ve missed over the last few weeks. Sadly, we’re too far behind on a couple of shows and have to wait for DVD. BUT, I am happy to say I am able to catch the season finales of 30 Rock, Chuck, Lost, and the Office. I’m mostly excited for 30 Rock and then the rest in the order listed previously.

Today, I picked out paint colors for the inside of my house. Exciting! I went with choices I didn’t think I’d pick. The before and after photos should be pretty interesting. Once I get a plan down, we’ll get to action. Hooray for home decor!

Again I’m posting from my phone. Perhaps an iPad would be useful to me. Hrmmmmm.

And now, because this whole post has been about random things (nothing new there), here’s a random picture:

Stand by me

This cracks me up. Muppets crack me up. I love the way muppets dance. You know, because of the whole no bones thing. The over extended side-to-side head bop. Combined with the horizontal swinging arm movements. What’s even more fun that watching muppets dance? Trying to dance like a muppet.

This is late but, Happy Easter.
