Last night, we watched Julie & Julia. Loved it! I can relate to Julie Powell a little in that she felt a little restless in her life and often never finished what she started. But she decided to change it became obsessed with Julia Child and started a project and fully threw herself into it and completed it with great success. Okay, that part isn’t like me at all. I love that she was able to stick to her guns and do it even with all the meltdowns and obsticles.
Meryl Streep as Julia Child. A-DOR-A-BLE. Everytime she was on the screen I couldn’t help but smile. I felt happy inside. And not that I didn’t like Julie Powell’s story but everytime the movie switched back to Julie, I felt kind of sad because it meant less time with Julia’s story. I loved seeing France in the 50′s. I loved seeing the clothing and the interior design. And my very very favorite thing? Paul and Julia.

My heart ached whenever they were together. There was subtle affectionate touches and glances that made me feel all warm and fluttery inside. I adored watching them together. I’m glad Stanley Tucci wasn’t a jerk in this. He always plays such a jerk and he’s really good at it. But there’s something heartwarming when he’s the nice guy. Paul ♥ Julia.
